The mayor of Alcalá de Henares, Judith Piquet, has presented the Security Plan for the Fairs and Festivals that the city will celebrate from August 22 to 31, with a total of 1,040 National Police officers during the nine days of celebration.
The City Security Council has designed this Security Plan, which was announced after an extraordinary Local Security Board meeting attended by the Government Delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the Minister of Environment and Interior, Carlos Novillo.

According to Piquet, this Plan is not just a deployment of personnel, it is «a complete and cross-cutting strategy, with technical criteria, technological innovation, and maximum institutional coordination.»
The operation will focus on four key areas: the Fairground of the Isla del Colegio, Plaza de Cervantes, Huerta del Obispo, and Parque Sementales; with differentiated deployments for days of high and low attendance.
An average of 159 Local Police officers will be mobilized on days of high intensity and 132 on ordinary days, including both regular service and specific reinforcements.

There will also be collaboration with other Local Police forces from the Community of Madrid, and Civil Protection will provide health care, logistical support, and evacuation tasks if necessary.
Among the most innovative measures is the installation of an alarm system in the social clubs, through buttons connected to the security control center, which will allow for quick action in case of any disturbance.

A Zero Zone will also be set up, equipped with surveillance cameras, designed for immediate response to incidents and to ensure the physical integrity of individuals and the legality of actions.
Additionally, on days of high attendance, a drone with night vision will be deployed to detect unauthorized gatherings, such as drinking parties on the banks of the Henares River, with the goal of preventing disturbances outside the controlled perimeter.
