The Regional Office of Forest Rangers in Alcalá de Henares has been attacked with stones and sticks, causing significant material damage to one of their official vehicles, as reported by the Independent and Civil Service Union (CSIF) on Wednesday.
This recent violent act adds to the theft of materials from the forest firefighters’ trucks in the same location over the past few days.
According to CSIF, these types of aggressions are part of a worrying pattern: «threatening graffiti, damage to personal vehicles of the agents, and even insults from outsiders» are just some of the incidents they have already faced.

CSIF denounces that «the regional administration has left the forest rangers in a reckless and dangerous state of neglect,» pointing to insufficient staff, lack of security, and poor facility conditions making the situation «unsustainable.»
Although Madrid Emergency and Security Agency 112 has begun improving the perimeter fencing, the union believes that «the approach couldn’t be more inappropriate and shoddy.»
They argue that «the new fencing doesn’t ensure the security of the facilities or the professionals,» blaming the lack of preventive measures for enabling both the latest attack and the theft of materials.
Therefore, CSIF demands that the Minister of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior, Carlos Novillo, take immediate action to provide the office with the necessary resources to prevent further episodes of violence and potential personal harm.
