In Alcalá de Henares, mayors and councilors from the municipalities that make up the Camino de Santiago Complutense have gathered.
The meeting was coordinated by the Association of Friends that promotes this itinerary from the city of Alcalá to the town of La Granja de San Ildefonso in Segovia. There it joins the Camino de Santiago de Madrid.
The meeting served to share ideas and improvement proposals for this route that passes through Camarma de Esteruelas, Fresno de Torote, Valdeolmos, Valdetorres del Jarama, Talamanca, Torrelaguna, Cabanillas de la Sierra, Miraflores, and Rascafría.

The journey of the Camino through the urban area of Alcalá will be improved with new signs that will facilitate the passage.
The Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago Complutense revitalized this historic itinerary starting in 2010 by publishing, with the support of the City Council and the Complutense Diocese, a guide to the route, as explained by the Alcalá City Council.
And in March, the association joined the Spanish Federation of Friends of the Camino de Santiago.
