Alcalá de Henares has been shaken by a shooting on the night of February 24th, when the National Police responded to a call at 9:00 pm alerting about a series of shots in the Reyes Católicos neighborhood of Alcalá de Henares.
Over a hundred officers quickly mobilized to the area, cordoning off the area and deploying multiple units from the city, as well as several ambulances and four police intervention units.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, fortunately no injuries have been reported. «I heard that someone was stabbed and they also started shooting around here, in the alley,» said a resident, shocked by what had happened.

During the initial investigation, the police found several bullet casings in one of the arcades of the neighborhood, indicating that shots were fired at the location. However, the attackers managed to evade the authorities, and no injuries were found in the area.
At dawn the next day, the neighborhood still bore witness to the intense police activity. «It was taken over by the Police, on foot and in cars,» said a resident, noting that such incidents are not new in the area.
Testimonies suggest that an argument in a bar between two young men was the trigger for the conflict. «One called the other and slapped him, then they started fighting and one pulled out a knife,» explained a neighbor.

Additionally, there is speculation that a breakup between a couple could be behind the confrontation. «Issues between families, nothing is known. Here in the neighborhood, it’s the same thing every day. Even the least likely person has an AK-47 at home,» added another neighbor.
In the midst of chaos, a young woman was seen shouting among the officers, asking for her father, who was allegedly wanted by the police. This person was arrested while trying to escape from the police, although they had no connection to the shootings.
The judicial police has taken the lead in the investigation to clarify the events. What is clear is that threats and the possible presence of firearms are concerning and evident to the residents of the Reyes Católicos neighborhood.
