
The Hispano-American Festival of the Golden Age. Classics in Alcalá has closed its XXIV edition with 20 full houses and around 17,000 attendees to the various proposals scheduled during the almost four weeks of this edition, from June 13 to July 6.
Organized by the Community of Madrid and the City Council of Alcalá de Henares, the program has revolved around theater, music, dance, puppetry, circus, and street performances.

This program has featured more than 86 performances by over 63 theater companies with artists from countries like Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Canada, or the United States, in addition to Spain.
«Close to 9,300 people have filled the theaters with the various festival shows, enjoying the best and most recent proposals of current performing arts. The number represents a 7% increase in audience attendance compared to the previous edition,» noted the festival in a statement.

In this edition, the Classics in Alcalá brand has been stabilized digitally as well, maintaining key web data with 23,300 users and nearly 10,000 page views.
The artistic director of this event, Clara Pérez, expressed satisfaction with the high participation and «the dialogue established with the audience this year; the 13 encounters with companies have been a complete success and a very stimulating activity.»

In 2025, Classics in Alcalá has focused on 20 premieres, with ‘Numancia’ standing out, the production of Teatros del Canal that inaugurated the festival under the direction of José Luis Alonso de Santos, winner of the 2025 Fuente de Castalia Award.
«Local proposals have also been featured in the program with a total of 12 shows by Alcalá companies,» as highlighted by the festival.
